Needlework Group

The Church Needlework group was formed in the mid-1980’s with the aim of providing the church with kneelers. The first project undertaken was to make cushions for the choir stalls. The kneelers for the altar rail depicting birds followed this project, and these can be found in the Memorial Chapel.

The group is self-sufficient and has since provided kneelers for the main altar rail and for the body of the church.  Banners and vestments for the church’s seasons have also been produced.

The group normally meets on the first Thursday of the month in the vestry at 2pm. Members also attend the monthly meetings of the Diocesan Fellowship of Church Needleworkers, where they learn more skills to enhance their work.

If you would like to know more or are interested in joining the group, please contact Janet Dean on 01254 703982.
